US Army MRE (Meal, Ready-to-Eat) individual food ration packed in a hermetic package with a long period of use.

Each MRE provides an average of 1,250 calories (13% protein, 36% fat, and 51% carbohydrates) and contains 1/3 of recommended a daily portion of vitamins and minerals.

MRE food rations are prepared using a flameless chemical heater. This solution allows to heat the meal without having to start a fire and needs only small amount of water.

Depending on the menu each pack can include:
– Main course
– Side dish
– Cracker or bread
– Spread – peanut butter, jelly or cheese spread
– Dessert – cookies or pound cakes
– Candy – M&M’s, Skittles, or Tootsie Rolls
– Beverages – Gatorade-like drink mixes, cocoa, dairy shakes, coffee, tea
– Hot sauce or seasoning – in some MREs
– Flameless ration heater
– Accessories – spoon, matches, creamer, sugar, salt, chewing gum, towelette, toilet paper, etc.
